Bretton Woods Resort The
Mount Washington Hotel & Resort Nestled in the heart of New Hampshire’s White Mountains, The Mount Washington Hotel & Resort is the creation of industrialist Joseph Stickney, who built the hotel in 1902. The sparkling white and red-roofed Spanish Renaissance-style hotel, with its grand, colonnaded veranda, was the setting for the historic Bretton Woods Monetary Conference in 1944, thus becoming the birthplace of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Jackson NH Hotel Eagle
Mountain House Situated above a 60-foot waterfall and with splendid views of White Mountain National Forest, the original Eagle Mountain House opened in 1879. In 1915 the main inn was destroyed by fire but less than a year later it was rebuilt. The farm land and cow pasture in front of the house became the Eagle Mountain House Golf Links in 1931, and the scenic course is open May through October; in winter it becomes part of the local cross-country ski trail network. Relaxing views abound from the inn’s 280-foot veranda scattered with antique rockers overlooking the Wildcat River and surrounding mountains.
