The children’s paddling pool area is particularly useful for very young children; apart from a pool it
has a sandpit and playground; it is enclosed giving parents a moment to relax.

- The Regents Park further North of Marble Arch has London Zoo and in the summer the outdoor
theatre which always puts on a brilliant children’s production. There is also a boating pond with row boats and small pedaloes for children.
- St James Park has a beautiful lake and uniquely Pelicans, the Mall runs parallel leading up to Buckingham Palace.

- Exhibition Road Museums
A pleasant walk across the park is Exhibition road with three excellent museums - all offer specific exhibits and activity packs for children and entry is free.

- The Natural History Museum is extremely popular for dinosaur and fossil exhibits but also has
a comprehensive display of life on earth.
- The Science Museum has an entire sprawling floor dedicated to transport from the first steam
engine to space rockets. Other exhibits range from medicine to astronomy. There is also a UMAX
cinema with regular 3D features and various hands on exploration centres which will interest
children as young as two, up to teenagers.
- The V&A houses a fabulous record of art and design spanning 3,000 years, from Medieval
jewellery to Vivienne Westwood dresses.

- West End Theatre
The West End always has a number of performances for children from Chitty Bang Bang to Mary Poppins. Whilst many shows are sold out in advance there is often a possibility our concierge could arrange tickets.

- Fringe and Puppet Shows
There are many small fringe theatres that offer high quality and extremely imaginative performances for children at a fraction of the price of a West End production.

These are listed in the Time Out magazines, and include the Puppet Barge in Little Venice on the
canal and the Angel Theatre in Islington.

- Madame Tussauds - 15 Minutes by taxi or tube/2.5 Miles
This waxwork museum is so well known it frequently involves queuing. For those children who are desperately keen to view wax images of their favourite stars and heroes you can also combine the visit with a trip to the planetarium.

Situated in Regents Park, the zoo follows a conservationist ethos. There are plenty of interesting displays; a walk-through monkey area and aviary, a pitch black
moonlight world for the nocturnal animals and throughout the day various informative talks and
displays.
