Bangkok’s congested streets give a whole new meaning to the words “traffic stop”.

Luckily for locals and visitors alike public transportation now includes such modern wonders as the Skytrain and a subway system, as well as the tried and true –like the always-reliable long tail boats that ply the Chao Phraya River. About the only thing you won’t see anymore is an elephant. The once-ubiquitous pachyderms have been banned from city streets in an effort to ease traffic.

Around Town

By Foot
Bangkok is not a pedestrian’s paradise, but step outside the hotel, and you’ll find an array of quaint shops. These are worth exploring for great deals on sterling silver jewelry, Thai silk tailoring, gemstones and handicrafts.

By Taxi
Metred taxis are reliable and easy to find in Bangkok. Stand your ground if the driver wants to haggle – so long as the taxi has a metre, that is the fare you should pay. Flag fall is THB 35.

By Boat
The River of Kings beckons everyone in Bangkok. And it’s no wonder – the River Phraya and its canals provide direct access to the city’s most important sights. Even better, renting a long tail boat for a private tour is not only efficient, it’s also inexpensive. THB 500 per hour.

By Ferry
Public river busses are one of the city’s favourite ways to get around. Express river busses are marked with yellow or orange flags. Fares vary according to number of stops traveled, with orange busses starting at THB 13 and yellow starting at THB 18. Local river bus fares range from THB 9-13. We’ll be happy to provide you fare and time schedules before you set off.

By Our Limousine
A new fleet of BMW series 7 cars, complete with chauffeur, is available for hourly or day hire. THB 1,000 per hour within the city. Outside city limits, the fares vary.

By Sky Train
BTS, known as the Skytrain, is perhaps the best way to get around town, with stops in the major shopping and commercial districts. The fare starts at THB 10 and increases by THB 10 for each stop traveled.

By Subway
Bangkok’s newest addition to the public transport system is convenient and reliable. This is the perfect choice if your itinerary includes a trip to the weekend market. Fees start between 10-19 baht and increase by THB 10 for each stop traveled.

By Tuk Tuk
Yes, they’re noisy. Yes, they’re polluting. But no trip to Bangkok is complete without a ride in a tuk tuk. These colourful three-wheeled vehicles are a staple of the city streets. Be sure to negotiate your fare before you get in.

From and To the Airports

By Our Limousine
Let us organize a car for your trip to or from the airport and you’ll soon be traveling in style. Our fleet includes brand new BMW series 7 vehicles as well as Volkswagon Vans for those traveling in groups. One-way hire fee for BMW is THB 2,500 one way. Volkswagon vans are THB 3,500 one way.

By Taxi
Taxis to and from the airport are readily available. A one-way fare will be approximately 500 baht. This can vary according to taxi company, especially for cabs coming from the airport.

By Rental Car
Hiring a car is not recommended for visitors to Bangkok as the streets are not easy to navigate and traffic is notoriously heavy.
