Gazing up at the futuristic skyscrapers ablaze with neon is the sort of free entertainment that fascinates young travellers. And once they enter Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong we make every possible effort to divert and entertain children so everyone has an enjoyable stay.

At The Hotel

Before you arrive we are making arrangements for our young guests. Each child under twelve will receive MO welcome gifts: Baseball Caps and Polo Shirts, back packs and teddy bears.

Within the room you will find:
  • Children’s Slippers and bathrobes
  • Television selections featuring child-orientated options
Dining
Café Causette, The Clipper Lounge and Room Service will provide creative children’s selections, as well as colouring books and pens to entertain while waiting for their meals.

Complimentary diversions
We are delighted to provide any of the following upon request: DVDs, VCRs, Children’s books, Colouring Books and Crayons, Board Games – Chinese Ladder and Snake, Green Eggs and Ham Board Game and X boxes.

Babies
We offer Shabby Chic Cribs with crib linens. Baby amenity kits include diapers, baby lotion, baby shampoo, baby powder, thermometer, night light, tub spout cover, cartoon band-aids. Baby Carrier and Strollers are available via Concierge.

Extra beds
Rollaway beds are available on request including themed character linen.

We can arrange babysitting for you, please allow 24 hours notice to avoid disappointment.


Around Town

Family Outings
A brief trip on the Star Ferry or the Peak Tram is an exciting option for the price of ticket.

Ocean Park
Although its focus is sea life, it has the star attractions of pandas.    There is a huge shark aquarium and atoll reef. Take the cable car between the green hills and more rides in the amusement park with roller coaster.

Middle Kingdom
Admission can be combined with Ocean Park. This is a creative display of China’s history with replica temples, palaces and street scenes. Various entertainments include circus acts and traditional Chinese dance.   
     
Noon Day Gun
If you happen to be in Causeway Bay area at noon on any day, stand by for the ritual firing of the Noon Day Gun.

Beaches
Any of the South side beaches are good for swimming or playing in the sand.

Hong Kong Disneyland - 45 Minutes/13.6 Miles or 22 Km
Disneyland is situated on Lantau Island it is easily accessible from Central by MTR underground rail. Admission on weekdays is HKD295 for adults and HKD210 for children between 3-11 years, weekends it is HKD350 for adults and HKD250 for children.

The Maritime Museum - 1 Hour/16.2 Miles or 26 Km
The Maritime Museum in Stanley displays 2,000 years of Hong Kong’s maritime history with interactive exhibits.

Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens - 10 Minutes/1.9 Miles or 3 Km
The Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical gardens are a short taxi ride away. The eastern part of the Garden is known as the Old Garden with a Children's Playground, Aviaries, Jaguar Enclosure, Green House.
