35th Anniversary “Fat Choy” Charity Walk
In celebration of The Excelsior, Hong Kong’s 35th anniversary this year, the hotel organised a charity “Fat Choy” Walk on Saturday, 23 February 2008. Over HKD220,000 was raised in aid of MINDSET, the in-house registered charity of Jardine Matheson, which aims to make a difference in the area of mental health.
The event was well attended with over 400 colleagues, family and friends from The Excelsior and its sister properties, Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong and The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong. There were also participants from Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and affiliated companies of Jardine Matheson. The event started at 10am with a delicious brunch followed by warm up exercises at The Excelsior. The “Fat Choy” walk commenced with the firing of the Noon Day Gun by Tourism Commissioner Miss Au King-Chi, Mr Edouard Ettedgui, Group Chief Executive of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and Ms Amanda Scott, General Manager of The Excelsior, Hong Kong.
The walk covered 35 unique scenic spots starting from the Noon Day Gun site at Causeway Bay through Wanchai, Admiralty and Central, and ending up in Hong Kong Park.

“The Excelsior Then & Now” Exhibition
“The Excelsior Then & Now,” a fascinating exhibit of our history, will be held in the hotel lobby and at EXpresso starting from April. The exhibit features rare archives from our past, taking guests on a journey in time from the 1970s through to the present day.
